C++ »h /A^ Laé is designed to accompany the textbook, C++ How to Program, Third Edition, and the optional, interactive CD-ROM-based C++ Multimedia Cyber Classroom, Third Edition, in a laboratory environment. This suite of course materials offers hundreds of exercises that cover introductory and intermedíate C++ programming concepts byyenabling students to 'leam by doing'-a core teaching philosophy at Deitel & Associates, Inc. Authors Dr. Harvey M. Deitel, Paúl J. Deitel and Tem R. Nieto used their experience in both academic and corporate teaching to produce C++ in the Lab. Each ofthe 15 chapters in the lab manual corresponds to its respective chapter in C++ How to Program, Third Edition so that the lab activities reinforce concepts presented in lecture and in the textbook. Each chapter of the lab manual includes carefülly constructed activities designed for a two-hour, closed laboratory experience. Prelab Activities prepare the student for the lab exercises and include matching questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, short-answer questions, programming-output questions and correctthe-code exercises. Lab Exercises require students to immerse themselves in C++ by programming, entering, testing and modifying C++ programs. The signature deitel™ live-code™ approach is to present concepts and examples in the context of complete, working programs, and this manual's lab exercises extend this teaching methodology by allowing students to créate their own working programs. The Lab Exercises include problem descriptions, sample outputs, problem-solving tips and follow-up questions and activities. Postiab Activities offer additional coding exercises and substantial programming problems that can fúrther the students' understanding ofthe material. The optional C++ Multimedia Cyber Classroom, Third Edition is an interactive CD-ROM that provides solutions to the Programming Challenges presented in the Postiab Activities, as well as offering hundreds of additional solved problems to help students master C++. Cyber Classroom interactivity features-such as extensive hyperlinking, text search and audio walkthroughs of the hundreds of code examples in C++ How to Program, Third Edition-enhance the studenfs leaming experience. If a student views a program in the Cyber Classroom and wants to execute it, the student simply clicks a lightning-bolt icón to run the program and view the program's output. The Cyber Classroom aiso includes solutions to approximately half the exercises in C++ How to Program, Third Edition. The C++ Multimedia Cyber Classroom, Third Edition, can be purchased separately at www.InformIT.com/cyberclassrooms. and is available packaged with the textbook C++ How to Program, Third Edition in the boxed product, The Complete C++ Training Course, Third Edition at bookstores, oniine booksellers and www.
